Owling: Pasadena City College Flea Market.
Published on February 8th, 2010.
I’ve been going to this one since I was in high school: what used to get me down there was the seas of collectible vinyl that made this the most unique flea market around. I’ve found the last 5 years or so that this is a choice spot for the most discerning owler, without having to make that deep dive. Check out what we spotted this last Sunday:

Nice owl plate–possibly from a “commemorative” offer shown on daytime TV. The guy selling it was as retired as you can get so he’s highly exposed to such propositions.

I liked this guy (or girl? Inanimate objects are always male in my family) primarily for his loneliness. A solo pink owl just chilling in the 64-degree sun.
Of course we had to walk out with something. Here’s our “owl finds” for the day–you may get a little jealous.

Now we’re talking! How proud I will be to have the girl who flaunts this gem on my arm. The seller says the purse was from the 50s. In AMAZING condition, this was a steal at $20.

Bam! Wasn’t sure what this was at first, but I knew I had to have it. Well, that head comes right off and it’s a fetching glass candy jar. He now takes up residence on my round Lane coffee table. $20 again.
I highly recommend putting this flea market on your list of must-go owling sites.
